PlayStation and Augmented Reality used in BTEC 3D Design & Development Courses

It is both beneficial and exciting for games development students to be working with current generation consoles and developing objects and elements that they can see working on equipment they have and are familiar with.

HRC has been successful in their first cohort of Games Development students going to university with very high grades and undertaking degrees in subjects such as: 3D Design, Games Development and Story Writing, Computer Science with Games Design and Games Development with Artificial Intelligence.

The college have been running a pilot project on SONY PlayStation Portable (PSPs) and an augmented reality programme called Second Sight, to give students access to real projects within the Games/Education industries. Students started working on developing their own 3D models for use as part of a library of the Second Sight application.
