How to successfully plan and install new language learning technology

Cordula Koerner, Head of Modern Languages at, Hills Road Sixth Form College talks about how her department has successfully integrated SONY Virtuoso language lab software improving outcomes in teaching and learning for both students and teachers.

Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge is one of the top Further Education Colleges in the UK. The two most recent OFSTED inspection reports awarded a grade 1 (‘outstanding’) for all areas inspected. Hills Road has also been awarded Learning and Skills ‘Beacon’ status which recognises the high quality of student support, of teaching and learning and of leadership and management; as well as their commitment to sharing good practice. Within the languages department the subjects taught using the SONY Virtuoso language lab software are French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese. The years taught are 12, Year 13 as well Adult Education courses.

We are very pleased with our results again this year and excellent results in listening and speaking components can certainly also be attributed to the use of the lab
