Engaging Y5 pupils in literacy using Game Based Learning.

This GBL project has been successful in achieving the original vision and objectives and has demonstrated an increased confidence and competence in the writing ability of Y5 children. A more creative atmosphere was established within the classroom and group-working skills improved. The children have also developed a greater understanding of ICT skills and seen that games whilst being fun can also help with their learning.

When asked “Who likes writing?” at the start of the project, only 13 hands out of 23 went up. When asked “Who has enjoyed writing about our eye pet?” all 23 hands in the class went up!
